General Information
Vacation Bible School will be on Saturday, August 7, from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.
m., for 2-12 year olds. The theme is "Be Kind" from the Beach Party material. Be
sure to be here for a day of fun and learning.
Promotion Sunday will be on Sunday, August 8. Several of our children and
youth will be moving up to the next class. They will be presented a Bible during
the worship service on that Sunday. Those promoted to the next class are:
Carley Reynolds and Jake Wakefield, going from Nursery to Preschool/1st
Grade; Sydney Butler and Kai Singer, going from Preschool/1st Grade to
Younger Elementary; Hope Boothe, Noah Dalton, Jeremy Stewart and Symone
Motley, going from Younger Elementary to Older Elementary; Logan Boothe,
going from Older Elementary to Teens. Be here to support these youth as they
"grow in widsom and stature and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52)
The CWF Salad Supper/Pool Party will be on Thursday, August 19, at 6:00 p.
m., at the home of Annette White. Ladies, make plans to be present.
All Wednesday evening meetings will resume on Wednesday, August 25, at 6:
30 p.m.
August will be Camp Month once again this year. If you have a favorite hymn you
would like to sing one Sunday, please write it down on a piece of paper, provided
on the foyer table, and place it in the box marked "Favorite Hymns." Several
hymns per week will be selected for the month.
We have begun our traditional casual dress for the summer and will continue
through Labor Sunday, September 5. Please remember to dress appropriately
for the worship service.
The next CMF Meeting will be on Monday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m. The
CWF will provide dinner for this meeting.
The next Board Meeting will be on Monday, September 20, at 7:30 p.m.
Committee chairs are encouraged to attend or send a report from your committee.
There will be an Elders' meeting on Sunday, October 17, at 2:00 p.m.
There will be four stews planned for the fall and winter of 2010-2011. The fourth
one will be a youth sponsored stew. Dates will be available soon.
Our youth are looking for mission service opportunities among our church
family. If you have projects that need to be done around the house (lawn mowing,
trimming and cutting, cleaning out a junk room, cleaning windows, painting, etc.),
our youth are available to help you free of charge. You will need to provide the
tools and supplies needed to perform your job. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin
boards for you to place your name and phone number so that someone can get in
touch with you. You can also see Heather Wakefield.
The Board has approved a Video Policy for showing videos in the church. Copies
of the policy, along with a form that must be filled out to show videos, are available
in the church office. See or e-mail Thomas if you have any questions.
