General Information

Our Christian Sympathy is extended to the family of Mollie Chilton, Mark
Boothe’s and Chris Hand’s grandmother, at her death on Saturday, March 6.  
The visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Fair
Funeral Home.  The funeral will be on Tuesday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m., at the
Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery.  


Th
e secretary will soon be working on a new Church Directory for 2010.  If you
have had any changes in your home address, e-mail address, home phone
number, and/or cell phone number, please notify the
church office.  Committee
chairs, please let the church office know who you have serving on your
committees.  Committee members' names are needed for the following
committees:  Education and Outreach.

Heather and the older youth attended a retreat at Barton College from Friday,
February 26-Sunday, February 28.  They had a great time!  Heather would like to
thank April Gibbs for going with her and the seven youth that went on the trip.  
While they were gone, they also got a chance to stop by the Duke Chapel and
take a tour.

be attending the Regional Assembly in April and will be working on a special
mission project while they are there.

trips and projects.  

Saturday, March 13, will be our fifth
stew of the season.  The youth will sponsor
this one.  If you are available to help cut up vegetables on Friday, March 12,
please be at the church at 8:30 a.m.  Help is also needed on Saturday morning
beginning at 4:00 a.m.  Stew may be picked up on Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-12:
00 p.m.  See Heather Wakefield or Beth Howell to place a stew order.  All
proceeds will go to the Kena Sawyers Transplant Fund.  

The youth will be hosting a
Spaghetti Lunch fundraiser after the worship service
on Sunday, March 21.  Make plans to stay and enjoy a good meal prepared by
our youth.  All proceeds from this will go back into the Youth Fund for future
projects.  

On Sunday, March 28, we will have our annual
Hot Dog Lunch and Easter Egg
Hunt
after the worship service.  Mark your calendars and make plans to attend.  

The
CMF will meet on Monday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m., for dinner and their
regular meeting.  All men are invited to come out and be a part of this fellowship.  

The next
Board Meeting will be on Monday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m.  Committee
chairpersons, please make plans to attend or send a report from your committee.

North Spray will be hosting the
Maundy Thursday Service this year on
Thursday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m.  First Christian Church is invited to join us.  

The
Regional Assembly will be on April 16-18, in Wilmington, NC.  The theme
this year is "One Dream, One Church."  The guest speakers will include:  Rev. Dr.
William L. Lee, pastor of Loudon Avenue Christian Church in Roanoke, VA, Rev.
Holly McKissick, senior pastor of St. Andrew Chrstian Church in Olathe, KS, and
the Rev. Dr. Alton A. Smith, presiding General Bishop of the Church of Christ,
Disciples of Christ, International.  The registraion Sunday for the Regional
Assembly is March 7.  We are entitled to three voting delegates.  Please see

The
Fourth Annual Music Festival will be held on Sunday, April 18, at 6:00 p.
m., at the First Presbyterian Church.  Church choirs from all around the community
will come together to form a mass choir.  They will perform three selections
together with each individual choir performing two pieces.  Monetary donations
will be received to go to the Rockingham Council for Bible Education.  Donations
of canned goods will be collected at the door to go to The Lord's Pantry and the
Salvation Army.  Harvey Leddy, Music Director at Spray Baptist Church and
Duane Best, Interim Choral Director at First Presbyterian Church are coordinating
this event.  Come out and enjoy this evening of musical inspiration.  

Week of Compassion is accepting donations to go to aid the relief efforts from
the earthquake in Haiti and Chile.

Haiti/Chile Relief.  These donations will be sent to our Regional Office where
they will be directed to the Week of Compassion.  Remember to add your name
and envelope number if you want contribution credit.  

Group leaders, please remember to turn the
heat back to 55 before you leave
each week.

The Board has approved a Video Policy for showing videos in the church. Copies
of the policy, along with a form that must be filled out to show videos, are available
